Lucebox claims that its mini AI workstation achieves twice the speed of the Nvidia DGX Spark.
So far, you must have seen a lot of mini AI workstations that have launched with the AMD RYZEN AI Max +395 Powerful Chip. Many mini AI workstations have come out in the past few months with this super chip. You probably know that this is an APU, which gives you a powerful Radeon RX 8060S iGPU that delivers raw performance comparable to the Nvidia RTX 4070 (laptop).
First of all, this machine wasn’t made for gamers; it could be a better option for Mini Workstation-specific AI developers. You’ll get RAW desktop-grade performance, but you’ll also have to pay a premium for it.

Design:
In terms of design, it features a premium metal build—specifically extruded aluminium—finished in a simple anodised black colour. It boasts a compact chassis measuring 13.4 x 4.3 x 12.6 inches and weighs a total of 6 kg. For cooling, there are vents at the front and a silent fan on the right side to cool the CPU, while the other side of the chassis features a cutout vent for the GPU’s blower-style fan. A yellow power button is located on the right side of the case, and two small grab handles are provided on the top.

Typically, mini-workstations powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU do not come with a dedicated GPU; however, this Lucebox AI workstation features a dedicated AMD Radeon R9700 GPU. Consequently, it is equipped with a 1000W 80 Plus Platinum SFX power supply.
CPU:
Talking about the CPU, the Lucebox mini AI Workstation comes with AMD’s powerful Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU. This chip is an APU based on the Zen-5 architecture, and it gives you 16 cores and 32 threads. The base clock speed of this chip is 3.0 GHz, and the max turbo boost clock is 5.1 GHz, with 64 MB of L3 cache memory.
Since it is an APU, you get powerful integrated Radeon RX 8060S graphics; however, this Lucebox Mini AI Workstation comes with a powerful dedicated graphics card, which we will discuss later.

GPU:
The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 features the powerful Radeon RX 8060S iGPU, which delivers performance comparable to the Nvidia RTX 4070. Based on the Strix Halo (RDNA 3.5) architecture, it comes with 40 compute units (GPU cores) and 2,560 shading units, boasting a graphics frequency of 2,900 MHz. This integrated GPU draws up to 55W of power at peak and delivers up to 60 TFLOPS of performance. However, the Lucebox Mini AI Workstation also includes a dedicated AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700 graphics card, which is truly powerful.

This Radeon AI PRO R9700 GPU is based on the RDNA 4 architecture; it features 64 compute units with 4,096 stream processors, along with 64 ray accelerators and 128 AI accelerators. Regarding clock speeds, it offers a base clock of 2,350 MHz and a boost clock of 2,920 MHz. The Radeon AI PRO R9700 comes with a massive 32 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, a 256-bit memory bus, memory speeds of up to 20 Gbps, and a memory bandwidth of 640 GB/s. In terms of performance, the Radeon AI PRO R9700 delivers up to 191 TFLOPS at FP16.
As for power consumption, this massive GPU draws approximately 260–300W.
Under full workload, the total Lucebox consumes around 500W of power, while idling at just 40W.
Memory:
Speaking of RAM, the Lucebox AI Workstation features the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chip, paired with a massive 128GB of onboard, 8-channel LPDDR5X RAM. This LPDDR5X memory is clocked at an insane 8000 MHz; while standard LPDDR5 RAM typically tops out at speeds around 5500 Mbps, LPDDR5X delivers super-fast speeds of up to 8000 Mbps.
Regarding storage, it comes with a 2 TB M.2 NVMe 1.4 PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD; while the company hasn’t specified the brand, you will have to pay a premium on the Lucebox Mini AI Workstation’s price due to the hike in SSD costs. In terms of performance, it offers read/write speeds of up to 7400/6600 MB/s.

However, it is unclear exactly how many PCIe Gen 4.0 expansion slots the company has included in this machine. Only a single M.2 2280 slot is visible in the motherboard image, but the 2TB storage capacity is perfect for demanding tasks such as 3D rendering and data management.
Connectivity:
The Lucebox AI Workstation features high-speed, seventh-generation Wi-Fi 7 for wireless connectivity, offering speeds of up to 30 Gbps—compared to the 9.6 Gbps provided by Wi-Fi 6—along with the latest Bluetooth 5.2, which delivers faster speeds and extended range.
IO Ports:
Regarding ports, the Lucebox Mini AI Workstation offers two USB Gen 4.0 Type-C ports (80 Gbps) and two USB-A ports (with unspecified versions). It includes one HDMI 2.1 port and two DisplayPort 2.1 ports driven by the motherboard, along with four additional display outputs provided by the Radeon AI PRO R9700 GPU.
Price and Availability:
There are two purchasing options available for the Lucebox Mini AI Workstation: one for individual developers priced at $5,999 and a business option for teams and companies priced at $7,999. The latter includes a 12-month subscription to Lucebox Engine Pro, premium “white-glove” installation, custom model support, and direct chat access to the engineering team. Shipping is scheduled to begin in November 2026, and global shipping is available via Lucebox.com.

The Lucebox Mini AI Workstation is a powerful AI workstation capable of meeting all your needs. It features the robust Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU—based on the efficient Zen 5 architecture—offering 16 cores and 32 threads along with an integrated Radeon RX 8060S iGPU that delivers performance comparable to the Nvidia RTX 4070. However, the standout feature is the dedicated Radeon AI PRO R9700 graphics card with 32GB of VRAM; this GPU is a true powerhouse specifically designed for AI workstations. Additionally, it comes with Ubuntu Server and the company’s open-source interface engine pre-installed.
However, you have to pay a premium price of $5,999 for the Lucebox; a downside is that the machine appears to offer only a single M.2 NVMe slot.
